Accomplishments
· Created the New World of Work business positioning for Microsoft that has become a cornerstone of information worker and enterprise software marketing within Microsoft, and an internal strategic planning tool. The New World of Work has also become a book, a whitepaper series and an award winning presentation at the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center. The New World of Work was influential in shifting the way many Microsoft International subsidiaries work internally, engage customers and work with partners.
· Led the formation of an industry non-profit, the Institute for Innovation and Information Productivity that is driving deep research on measurements for the knowledge economy. Served on the Board of Directors and lead research investments. Currently a member of the academic advisory team.
· Managed the refit of the Center for Information (CIW) work at Microsoft's Executive Briefing Center. The CIW's immersive experience helped customers imagine the future of software and how it would affect the way they work in tomorrow's workplace.
· As an analyst at the Giga Information Group and Forrester Research, developed key industry positions on adaptive workspaces, information management, knowledge metadata, learning architectures, practical implementations of knowledge management and the impact of mobility on knowledge workers that drove consulting revenue and built brand equity. · Architected the “knowledge highway” – the Hughes Space and Communications knowledge management network that lead to highly effective systems for leveraging customer insights, embedding lessons learned techniques for cost saving and new opportunities, and managing launch window inventory. The program recorded millions of dollars in cost avoidance and revenue generation.
· Created the role of Customer Relationship Manager with the Hughes Space and Communications IT department which drove dramatic improvements in internal customer satisfaction.
· Managed the implementation of an Electronic Collaboration Environment to support information sharing between Hughes, customers & partners using Lotus Notes, web interfaces and other Internet-based technologies. This project also included the design and deployment of a new corporate firewall architecture and system of firewalls.
· Managed the development of Western Digital’s Surface Mount Assembly Reasoning Tool, “SMART,” a sophisticated expert system for the programming of pick and place equipment that saved one week of cycle time for each new design.
· Led the implementation of MRP Systems at Christie Electric Corporation and Dataproducts Corporation.
